Terrier "Pups" 5-Day Triathlon Camp

City Of Tampa Parks & Rec

Ages 9-14

July 17th - 21st 9:00am - 1:00pm

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to give all kids the opportunity to participate in the growing sport of triathlon and to educate them about the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle by offering another platform for them to understand physical, mental and emotional potential while building friendships and having a blast!

OUR GOAL

  • Educate & prepare kids about the sport of triathlon, duathlon, running & general fitness

  • Build a strong foundation of swimming, cycling and running skills/techniques

  • Teach the basics of triathlon transitions

  • Teach bike safety and maintenance

  • Educate on proper nutrition when training for and during events

  • Teach appropriate goal setting and motivational techniques

  • Help build a foundation for an active and healthy lifestyle

WHAT TO EXPECT

Do it right before you do it more! Understand the proper form and technique while keeping it friendly and fun! No matter age or fitness level, we stress on doing it right before doing it more.  At our camp we’ll be swimming, cycling and running daily with stretching & maintenance incorporated.  So the kids will be tired at the end of each day and very tired at the end of the week (we hope and I’m sure you do too!).  We want each camper walking away understand improvement is a perpetual cycle and to challenge themselves in and out of the sport of triathlon.

NUTRITION & HYDRATION

Whatever keeps your kids fueled and hydrated along with snacks and a lunch for the end of the day.  Also, it’s important to keep your kids hydrated once they get home and before they arrive.  So make sure that grab that last glass of water before they head out each morning.

GROUPS

We’ll be separating into 3 separate groups for each sport based on ability as beginner, intermediate and advanced.

DAILY UPDATS

We will update throughout the day at Terrier Tri Face Book.  We do not post children images or names.  But If you would like a "tag"  of your little one zooming through the sports let us know and well have you fill out waiver.
